Victor Osimhen delivered a brilliant all-round display as Galatasaray stormed to a 5-1 victory over Eyüpspor on Friday to tighten their grip on the Turkish Super Lig title race, footynaija.com reports.
Better known for scoring goals, the Nigerian forward showed his creative quality this time, setting up two goals and troubling the Eyüpspor defence from the first whistle. His movement, strength and smart passing gave Galatasaray full control of the match.

The breakthrough came almost immediately. After just two minutes, Osimhen swung in a fine cross which was met by Yunus Akgün, who nodded the ball home to send the home fans into celebration.
Galatasaray kept pushing forward and were rewarded again in the 33rd minute when Mauro Icardi reacted quickest to a rebound inside the box to make it 2-0.
Eyüpspor’s night became even harder when Bedirhan Özyurt was shown a red card before half-time, leaving the visitors with ten men and little hope of a comeback.

The second half followed the same pattern. Osimhen won possession inside the area and calmly set up Icardi for Galatasaray’s third goal within minutes of the restart. The Argentine striker later completed his hat-trick after a dangerous cross from Barış Alper Yılmaz.
Eyüpspor managed a consolation goal through Metehan Altunbas, but an own goal from Jérome Onguéné rounded off a comfortable evening for the champions.
The win takes Galatasaray to 55 points, six clear of Fenerbahçe, who still have a match to play against Trabzonspor.
Next, Galatasaray turn their focus to Europe, where they will face Juventus in a key playoff tie in the UEFA Champions League, with Osimhen’s fine form giving them fresh confidence.
