Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu continued his superb goal-scoring form for Trabzonspor on Saturday despite their 3-2 defeat to Fenerbahce at Papara Park, Footynaija.com reports.
The Nigeria international scored one of four first half goals in the game when he rose highest to power home Matthias Lovik’s cross with just a couple of minutes remaining until half time.
An early goal from Ernest Muci, who was set up by another Nigerian Chibuike Nwaiwu initially got Trabzonspor off to a perfect start but Fenerbahce wasted little time in clawing their way back into the contest.
The Yellow Canaries drew level just nine minutes after Muci’s opener courtesy of a pinpoint left footed strike from Brazilian winger Anderson Talisca before turning the game on its head thanks to Turkish forward Kerem Akturkoglu’s 34th minute effort.

Onuachu’s header once again leveled matters in a highly watchable encounter but Fenerbahce would go on to have the last laugh with Marco Asencio scoring the winner just three minutes after the restart to consign Trabzonspor to their third defeat in the Super Lig this term.
Despite the defeat, Trabzonspor maintain their position in third place on the Super Lig table although they are now seven points behind Fenerbahce in second and ten behind leaders Galatasaray.
For Onuachu, his goal extended his scoring streak across all competitions to five matches. He now has 16 goals from 19 League matches and currently leads the Super Lig top scorers’ chart.

The Super Eagles striker will be looking to continue his rich vein of scoring form when Trabzonspor visit Gaziantep FK at the Gaziantep Stadyumu next weekend.
