Nigerian striker Samson Iyede has completed his transfer from Serbian side FK Novi Pazar to Kazakhstan Premier League outfit Zhenis Astana, Footynaija.com reports.
Iyede’s move comes after scoring two goals in five appearances for Novi Pazar during the 2025/26 Super Liga season. The Delta-born striker began his senior career in Estonia with Paide Linnameeskond before moving to Denmark, where he featured for Fremad Amager and later FC Fredericia.
A loan stint at Lommel in Belgium added to his experience in European football, while a spell with Chornomorets Odesa in Ukraine and a subsequent signing by Vorskla Poltava saw him compete in the Ukrainian Premier League.
In July 2025, he joined FK Novi Pazar, where he contributed in the attacking line before attracting interest from Zhenis Astana.
As revealed by Footy d’Afrique, the 28-year-old forward joins the Astana-based club on a deal running until June 2028, marking the next stage of his career after the spell in Serbia’s top flight.
Iyede is known for his central striking role, standing at 1.80 meters and operating mainly with his right foot. His career has seen him accumulate over 60 goals in more than 200 senior appearances across Europe.
His time in Denmark, Belgium, Ukraine, and Serbia provided exposure to different tactical systems, which Astana will look to integrate into their attacking setup.
Zhenis Astana signed Iyede on a free transfer, with his market value estimated at €450,000 prior to the move. With his contract in place, Samson Iyede is expected to feature in Zhenis Astana’s league fixtures for the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign.
