Former Italy and Juventus forward Alessandro Del Piero believes Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is one of the very best currently playing in Europe, Footynaija.com reports.
The creative side of Osimhen’s game was a full display on Tuesday night as the Nigeria international pitched in with two assists to ensure Galatasaray coasted to a 5-2 victory over Juventus in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League play-off round.
Osimhen did great work to set up Noa Lang and Sacha Boey for Galatasaray’s fourth and fifth goals respectively, ensuring the Super Lig champions head into the second leg of this tie with a comfortable three-goal cushion.
Despite failing to appear on the score sheet, Osimhen’s overall display at RAMS Park caught the eye of Del Piero, who acknowledged the Nigerian striker’s relentless nature and how he affects the outcomes of games.

“The very existence of players like Victor Osimhen is frightening… He’s a cold-blooded, high-quality player. He never gives up,” the iconic former Juve captain remarked via Futboo.
Having taken strong advantage of their home support to secure a three-goal cushion, Galatasaray will now look to finish the job when they pay a visit to the Allianz Stadium in Turin for the second leg of this UCL tie next week.
Osimhen, with nine goal contributions (6G, 3A) to his name in the UCL already, will once again be looking to play a significant role for the Turkish Super Lig champions and perhaps even get on the score sheet this time around.
Before then, the Super Eagles striker can break his run of consecutive games without a goal this weekend when Galatasaray rock up to the Medas Konya Buyuksehir Stadyumu for a Super Lig encounter against Konyaspor.
