Nigeria’s Falconets continued their strong march toward the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with an impressive 2-1 victory over the Senegal U20 Women’s National Team on Saturday, completing a comfortable 3-1 aggregate success, Footynaija.com reports.

Playing away from home in Rufisque, the Falconets showed maturity beyond their years, controlling long spells of the game and striking at key moments.

Their breakthrough arrived in the first half when Kindness Ifeanyi powered home a header from a well-delivered corner, once again proving her strength in the air.

Senegal pushed for a response, but Nigeria remained organised and patient. Shortly after the restart, Precious Oscar doubled the advantage with another set-piece header, effectively killing off any hopes of a comeback. Although the hosts managed to pull one goal back later on, the tie was already firmly in Nigeria’s grip.

The result builds on last week’s narrow win in Abeokuta and preserves Nigeria’s remarkable record as the only African nation to have reached every edition of the U-20 Women’s World Cup since the competition began in 2002.

Elsewhere across the continent, the final qualifying round was confirmed following a dramatic set of second-leg encounters.

Malawi delivered a ruthless 5-1 home win over Guinea-Bissau, Uganda edged past Zambia on the road, and Ghana squeezed through against South Africa. Tanzania thrilled home fans by forcing penalties against Kenya before winning the shootout, while Ivory Coast progressed despite defeat in DR Congo.

Nigeria will now face Malawi in the decisive final round, with the four overall winners earning tickets to Poland for the tournament beginning on September 5.
