Bayern Munich have joined the race to sign Nigeria and Rangers defender Emmanuel Fernandez, Footynaija reports.
The 24-year-old centre-back, who only arrived in Glasgow last summer from Peterborough United, has gone from a quiet signing to one of the Premiership’s standout performers. His strong tackling, confidence on the ball and surprising goal threat have made him a key figure in Rangers’ title push.
That rapid rise has not gone unnoticed. Talent scouts from Arsenal and Chelsea are believed to be closely following his progress, while Germany’s heavyweights Bayern Munich are also keeping watch.
Fernandez was signed for a relatively small fee, but Rangers now value him at well over £10 million after a series of impressive performances, including a Player of the Month award earlier this year. With no official bids yet on the table, the Scottish club are relaxed about his future and confident his price could rise even higher if their season ends strongly.

Away from club football, the defender’s international future is also taking shape. Though born in England, Fernandez has chosen to represent Nigeria and is hoping for a call-up to the Super Eagles.
Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle is said to be monitoring his development closely, impressed by both his physical presence and growing maturity.
From loan spells in England’s lower leagues to starring nights at Ibrox, Fernandez’s journey has been built on patience and hard work. Now, with Europe’s elite watching and a potential international debut on the horizon, his remarkable rise looks far from over.
