Club Brugge manager Ivan Leko has dismissed speculations surrounding the future of in-demand Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika, Footynaija.com reports.
Onyedika is attracting plenty of interest this winter, with Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray, already seeing an initial advance rebuffed by Brugge. Bundesliga’s Eintracht Frankfurt are also keeping tabs on the 24-year-old.
To compound matters, recent reports have claimed that Onyedika is keen to secure a departure this month, amid revelations of Victor Osimhen’s efforts to lure his fellow Super Eagle to RAMS Park.
However, Leko struck a confident tone while addressing the situation surrounding his star midfielder’s future, insisting that there’s nothing to worry about when it comes to Onyedika’s immediate future.

“Nobody told me he’s leaving,” Leko was quoted by Voetbalnieuws.
“What I’ve seen? He’s training with us again, he’s in good spirits, and he’s behaving normally. I see no reason why Rapha can’t play. He’ll be in the squad.
“People are chattering and speculating about transfers, but I’m staying calm. We’ll see what happens. We’ll only know more when the transfer window is over.
“But I’m not worried about Onyedika. I’ve been in football for thirty years: I’m not stupid.”

Reports initially claimed that Brugge were open to parting ways with Onyedika this month. But it seems the Belgian outfit are not willing to lose such an important player at this stage of the season.
With nine days left in the winter transfer window, time is running out for Galatasaray and other potential suitors to get their man. If nothing shifts in the coming days, interested parties will have to wait until the summer before they can try again.
While his future continues to stir up transfer gossip, Onyedika has returned straight into the mix for Club Brugge. The Super Eagles star featured for 90 minutes as his team edged a seven goal thriller against Zulte Waregem on Saturday.
