Christantus Uche’s Crystal Palace future appears to be moving in a far more positive direction after fresh details emerged surrounding the obligation clause in his loan deal from Getafe, Footynaija.com reports.
The Nigerian forward joined Palace on deadline day following a breakout season in La Liga and was initially believed to require 10 Premier League starts to trigger a permanent €20 million move.

However, by December, Uche had yet to start a league game, sparking reports that Getafe were considering terminating the loan.

That situation has eased significantly in recent weeks. Uche made his fifth Premier League appearance from the bench in Palace’s 2–1 win at Fulham before delivering a standout display in midweek, scoring and assisting in a 3–0 Conference League victory over Shelbourne in Dublin.

According to the Mirror, citing Spanish sources, the obligation clause may instead be triggered if Uche makes 20 appearances in all competitions, a claim yet to be confirmed.
The forward has already featured 10 times this season, making the target achievable.
Uche’s omission from Nigeria’s AFCON squad could also aid his chances, allowing him to remain with Palace during a congested winter schedule.
Crystal Palace will host Manchester City on Sunday and Uche will be keen to feature against Pep Guardiola’s high-flyers.
