Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare is hopeful that Wolverhampton Wanderers can extend their impressive Carabao Cup run when they take on West London giants Chelsea in the fourth round, Footynaija.com reports.
Wolves have endured a torrid Premier League campaign so far, sitting bottom of the table after failing to win any of their opening nine fixtures (two draws, seven losses). However, their fortunes have been far better in the Carabao Cup, where Vitor Pereira’s men have battled past fellow top-flight sides West Ham United and Everton in the previous rounds.
Arokodare, who scored his only goal for the club in the 2-0 third-round victory over Everton, believes Wolves can continue their fine form in the competition despite the daunting challenge that awaits against Enzo Maresca’s unpredictable Chelsea side.

“Obviously, it’s not going to be an easy game because of the team and the stage we are in the tournament, and also because of our previous results in the league, but so far in the Carabao Cup we’ve been doing pretty good, and we’re going to try to continue that,” Arokodare told Wolves’ official website.
“It is nice to take our minds off the Premier League a little bit and focus on something else, but it’s still football, and we’re going to try to do what we’ve been doing so far in the tournament, and that’s winning. It’s a home game, and hopefully our fans are going to be behind us, as they’ve been throughout the whole season, and we’re going to come out with the win.”

The 24-year-old forward will be keen to make another statement on Wednesday night and possibly add to his goal tally as Wolves aim to keep their Carabao Cup journey alive. A win against Chelsea will not only boost morale, it could also mark a much-needed turning point in what has been a difficult league campaign so far.
