Flying Eagles captain Daniel Bameyi is leaving the shores of Nigeria for Europe after securing a move to Slovenian side ND Primorje Ajdovscina, Footynaija.com reports.
Having spent last season on loan from Abuja-based Yum-Yum FC to Bayelsa United, Bameyi will now further his career in Europe after penning a three-year deal with ND Primorje.
Announcing the move on the club’s official website, ND Primorje president Bojan Adzic waxed lyrical about the 19-year-old defender and his anticipated impact at the club.

“We believe Bameyi’s work ethic and professionalism will bring a positive turnaround to our club,” Adzic said in quotes revealed by Complete Sport. “His defensive skills are exactly what we need as we push for a stronger league campaign.”
ND Primorje head coach Milan Anđelkovic shared Adzic’s sentiments, describing Bameyi as a critical piece of the club’s defensive rebuild.
“Daniel’s addition, along with other new signings, will help us stabilize the back line and compete at the top level this season.”
Bameyi is set to link up with his new club after the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile later this month, bringing valuable versatility as a defender who can operate both at right-back and centre-back.

He most recently captained the Flying Eagles of Nigeria to this year’s U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, helping his nation reach the semi-finals where they narrowly lost to South Africa before going on to win the third-place playoff on penalties.
ND Primorje will have their eyes on the FIFA U-20 World Cup to see how their new signing performs and if his displays turn out to be as good as they were at the U-20 AFCON, the Slovenian side will be very pleased with this piece of business.
