Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk has revealed that Victor Osimhen could still line up against Eintracht Frankfurt in Thursday’s Champions League tie, despite carrying a chin injury, Footynaija.com reports.
The Nigerian striker suffered the knock during the Super Eagles’ 1-0 win over Rwanda in a World Cup qualifier and has since missed two matches — Nigeria’s 1-1 draw with South Africa and Galatasaray’s 2-0 victory over Eyüpspor. His absence has sparked doubts over his availability for the crucial European fixture.
Buruk, however, suggested after Saturday’s league win that the club is not ruling him out.
“Osimhen’s condition will be determined within a few days,” he told the club’s official website. “We’re hopeful he’ll play.”
The coach admitted the 26-year-old is still struggling with pain but stressed that the decision will depend on how well he handles it.
“We think he will, but of course, he’s in pain. We’ll see if he can tolerate that pain and play with it. We have a few days.”
Osimhen, who joined permanently from Napoli in the summer, has already proven indispensable to the Turkish champions after spearheading last season’s domestic double. His power, pace, and finishing remain central to Buruk’s tactical plans.
With Galatasaray set for a demanding clash against a well-drilled Frankfurt side, the manager knows a fit-enough Osimhen could tilt the balance.
