Former Super Eagles forward Daniel Amokachi has shown strong support for Tammy Abraham following his high-profile transfer to Turkish giants Beşiktaş, Footynaija.com reports.
The ex-Everton and Beşiktaş striker, widely loved in Istanbul, sent a passionate message to Abraham just days after the move was confirmed.
Amokachi, who played for Beşiktaş between 1996 and 1999, is regarded as one of the club’s most iconic foreign players. His playing style and connection with the fans earned him the nickname “Karaboğa”, which loosely translates to Black Bull or Dark Hero in Turkish.

On Tuesday night, Amokachi took to social media to express his excitement and belief in Abraham’s potential.
“Tammy Abraham, I see the potential in you to be the next Karaboğa. I believe in you and I am sure that as long as you continue to score those sexy goals, our big Beşiktaş family will love you even more. Come on Black Eagles! Come on Beşiktaş! This season will be completely different,” he said in an Instagram video.
Abraham, who recently completed his move from AS Roma to Beşiktaş, signed a deal reported to be worth around €15 million with add-ons. The transfer is structured as a loan with a mandatory purchase option, a move designed to help Roma comply with UEFA Financial Fair Play regulations.
During his time in Turkey, Amokachi scored 18 goals in 77 appearances for Beşiktaş across all competitions, winning the Turkish Cup in 1998.
Abraham, who previously played for Chelsea and Roma, joins Beşiktaş with the expectation of becoming their lead striker under new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær.
