Nigerian winger Ibrahim Said has completed a move to Scottish Premiership side Motherwell in a deal worth around ₦138.76 million (€75,000), Footynaija.com reports.

The 23-year-old former Golden Eaglet striker joins the Lanarkshire outfit on a two-year deal, with an option to extend for a third season.

A product of the Dabo Babes Academy in Nigeria, Said spent the last four years in Denmark, where he made a name for himself at Viborg.

Before he eventually chose to join Viborg in 2021, his rise reportedly attracted offers from top European clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester City, Club Brugge, and İstanbul Başakşehir.

After moving to Europe at 18, he played over 100 matches for the club, scoring 11 goals and playing a big part in their return to the Danish top flight in 2022.

As revealed in the Scottish club official announcement, Said said, “I am happy to be in the door. This move has been long in the making, and I’m excited about what the manager is trying to build here. There are good players in the squad, and I hope I can excite everyone who comes to watch us play.”

He becomes the latest addition under new manager Jens Berthel Askou, who praised Said’s ability to shine in tight spaces and described him as a player with “speed, dribbling ability, and good finishing qualities.”

The Motherwell boss also revealed that Said is currently a few weeks behind the squad in fitness but confirmed that the club has a plan to ease him into action.
