Napoli’s relationship with Victor Osimhen may be on thin ice, but that has not stopped the Serie A side from circling back to Nigeria for fresh talent, Footynaija.com reports.
The Italian giants are now in contact with the camp of German-born Super Eagles-eligible goalkeeper, Noah Atubolu, as they explore their next move in the transfer market.
Reports indicate that Napoli are actively pursuing the Freiburg shot-stopper, with early contact already established between the player’s entourage and the club.

As revealed by transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the Serie A side are said to be waiting for Atubolu’s green light before opening formal talks with Freiburg, who value the 23-year-old at around €18 million.
Born in Germany to a Nigerian father, Atubolu has represented Germany at every youth level, from U17 up to U21, but remains eligible for Nigeria at senior level.
While he has publicly stated his preference for Germany in past interviews, the door remains slightly open should circumstances shift. Atubolu has yet to make his senior debut for the German national team.
Napoli’s interest comes at a time when the club are looking to reinforce their goalkeeping options ahead of next season. With current uncertainties around the squad and ongoing talks involving other players, the Azzurri appear determined to reshape their team from back to front.
Should the move happen, Atubolu would become the latest in a growing list of Super Eagles-eligible players linked with top Serie A sides. His rise at Freiburg, where he played Bundesliga games and recorded multiple clean sheets, has made him one of the most talked-about young keepers in German football.
