Kevin Carlos enjoyed a breakthrough season in Switzerland, netting 15 goals across all competitions — 12 in the Swiss Super League, two in the domestic cup, and one for Yverdon before moving to Basel in January. His consistent form has made him the front-runner among Lecce’s shortlist of offensive reinforcements.
The Ceuta-born striker — of Spanish and Nigerian descent — rose to prominence after claiming the top scorer title with Yverdon in the 2023/24 campaign.
His career trajectory has been steep, with earlier stints at Huesca, Betis Deportivo, and Basel where he showed his goal-scoring instincts. He made his professional debut for Huesca in December 2021 and found the net for their first team in the Segunda División the following season.

Lecce’s interest comes as no surprise, given the club’s history of scouting talent under sporting director Pantaleo Corvino. The club narrowly avoided relegation last season, finishing 17th, and are keen to add firepower to avoid another survival battle.
Kevin Carlos Omoruyi, still eligible to represent Nigeria, has not yet featured for Spain at any level — leaving the door open for a potential Super Eagles call-up.
