Super Eagles’ talismanic striker Victor Osimhen is once again in the headlines and this time, it’s not because he’s scored another stunning goal or broken a new record, Footynaija.com reports.
Osimhen has been heavily courted by Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal in recent weeks. Al Hilal, desperate to make big name additions to their ranks ahead of the Club World Cup, set their sights on the masked hitman as a priority target.
The Middle-East money bags reportedly sent in nothing less than three different offers with the third thought to be worth a staggering €35 million annually until 2029 including very generous bonuses.
However, to their dismay, Al Hilal saw all their efforts rebuffed by the Nigeria international despite having reached an agreement with Napoli to meet his relatively modest €75 million release clause.
Why did Victor Osimhen turn down Al Hilal’s staggering offer?

Despite receiving those jaw-dropping offers from Al Hilal, Osimhen’s priority at this stage of his career is clear. The 26-year-old marksman is keen to remain in Europe where he can continue to compete with the best of the best.
Osimhen’s resolve is further reinforced by serious interest in his services from some of Europe’s top teams, according to TuttoSport. In the Premier League, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all remain possible destinations.
Elsewhere in Europe, there has been speculated interest from the likes of Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid although these clubs appear to be less likely destinations compared to their Premier League counterparts.

Having made what would certainly be seen as one of the biggest decisions of this summer window, Osimhen’s next destination remains uncertain at this point.
Reports from his inner circle suggest that the prolific marksman is in no rush to decide his next destination as he enjoys his holidays in Nigeria.
