Nigeria international Moses Simon has ruled out a move to any Ligue 1 club this summer, signalling his intention to leave FC Nantes for a fresh challenge abroad, Footynaija.com reports.

The Super Eagles winger, a key figure at Nantes since arriving from Levante, confirmed he will not be joining domestic rivals such as PSG, Marseille, Rennes or Lille — despite reported interest. Simon, who turns 30 soon, is believed to be seeking a step up in competition and has his sights firmly set on a move to the Premier League.

“I have no interest in staying in Ligue 1,” the Nigerian star was quoted as saying by Foot-Sur7. “If I leave Nantes, it will be to play outside France.”

Simon has been a standout performer for the Canaries, known for his blistering pace and direct attacking play. Though his departure now seems likely, Nantes fans may take solace in the fact that he won’t be bolstering one of their league rivals, particularly regional foes Stade Rennais.

A move to England would fulfil a long-held dream for Simon, who has consistently expressed admiration for the intensity and quality of the English top flight. With the summer transfer window open, interest from Premier League clubs is expected to grow.

Simon managed eight goals and ten assists – his club’s biggest contributor – in 32 Ligue 1 games for Nantes during the just-concluded campaign.
