Flying Eagles winger Jephta Clinton has promised to either score or assist as Nigeria prepare for a pivotal U20 Africa Cup of Nations clash against Morocco on Sunday, Footynaija.com reports.

Clinton, who plays for Nigeria Premier Football League giants Enyimba, exuded confidence ahead of the high-stakes Group B encounter.

Speaking to the team’s media officer Sharif Abdallah, Clinton revealed the Flying Eagles’ belief and momentum going into what promises to be a fiercely contested battle.

“The team spirit is very high,” Clinton said. “I believe we are going to perform very well against Morocco.”

Morocco, known for their technical discipline and tactical organisation, edged Kenya 3-2 in their opening fixture and pose a significant threat. But Clinton insists the Flying Eagles are not fazed, especially after their own hard-fought 1-0 win over Tunisia.

Acknowledging the strength of their North African opponents, Clinton said Nigeria would rely on resilience, determination, and collective strength to secure victory.

He added: “Morocco are a strong side with very technical players, but we are not scared. We are focused on what we can do as a team.”

Following the Flying Eagles’ final training session on Saturday, Clinton made a personal pledge to lead by example on the pitch.

“I will give my best in the match,” he said. “If I don’t score, I will assist. I will do everything possible to help the team get a win.”

Victory will guarantee either side a passage to the knockout stages of the competition.
