Everton have stepped up their interest in Super Eagles forward Moses Simon as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the summer transfer window, Footynaija.com reports.

The 29-year-old FC Nantes winger has emerged as a key target for the Merseyside club, who have sent scouts to monitor the player in recent weeks, according to Africa Foot.

Simon, who has 72 caps and 9 goals for Nigeria, has enjoyed a productive campaign in Ligue 1 with seven goals and nine assists in 27 appearances, catching the eye of several clubs across Europe.

Sources close to the player suggest Simon is keen on a move to the Premier League and has instructed his representatives to explore the possibility of joining Everton.

The Toffees, currently 13th in the Premier League, are eager to reinforce their wide options and see the Jos-born star as a dynamic addition to their squad.

French giants Marseille are also reportedly weighing up a move for Simon. Influential OM pundits and analysts believe the winger’s pace and direct style make him a natural fit for Roberto De Zerbi’s system. Simon is valued at €12m by Transfermarkt, though Nantes are holding out for at least €15m for his services.

Having joined Nantes from Levante in 2020 for €6.5m, Simon signed a contract extension in 2023, tying him to the French club until June 2026.

The Nigeria international won the Belgian Pro League and the Super Cup with Gent in 2015 and helped Nantes lift the Coupe de France in 2022.
