ÇStade de Reims striker Hafiz Ibrahim has revealed his ambition to one day don the iconic green and white shirt of Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Footynaija.com reports.
The teenage sensation rose to prominence last year with a remarkable performance at the Viareggio Cup in Italy, scoring ten goals in just six matches and catching the attention of top European scouts.
His exploits led to a trial with Chelsea, where England winger Raheem Sterling reportedly reached out to persuade him to turn down a proposed move to Norway and join the Premier League giants. However, Ibrahim opted against a deal with the Blues, choosing instead to continue his development in France with Ligue 1 side Reims.
The decision has so far paid off. Since arriving in August, Ibrahim has not only earned a first-team debut in Ligue 1 but also played a key role in helping Reims reach the final of the Coupe de France. He has registered ten goals and two assists across all competitions for both the youth and senior teams.

Now, the talented forward has his sights set on international football — and representing Nigeria remains a personal dream.
“Representing the Super Eagles would be the pinnacle of my career,” Ibrahim told The Punch. “It’s every Nigerian player’s dream to wear the green and white, and I’m no different. I’m working hard every day to ensure that I’m in the best possible shape and ready to take on that challenge. I believe I have what it takes to make the team, but it’s up to me to keep proving myself. If I continue working hard, I’m confident that my time will come.”
Ibrahim also opened up about the players who have inspired him — both at home and abroad.
“In Nigeria, players like Nwankwo Kanu and Jay-Jay Okocha were huge inspirations. They showed the world that Nigerian footballers can compete at the highest level. Abroad, I admire players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Romelu Lukaku. Their work ethic, consistency, and dedication to their craft are things I strive to emulate. They’ve proven that talent alone isn’t enough; you have to put in the work every day if you want to be successful.”
With his blend of technical ability, physical strength, and relentless drive, Ibrahim is widely regarded as one of the brightest Nigerian prospects in Europe — and his Super Eagles dream may not be far off.
