‘A boost for any team’ – Ex-Premier League star urges Chelsea to sign Super Eagles’ Osimhen

Highly sought-after Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has rebuffed a transfer attempt from Galatasaray’s Super Lig rivals Fenerbahce amid growing interests from big clubs in the Premier League and La Liga, Footynaija.com understands.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Serie A side Napoli, is enjoying a fantastic campaign with the Super Lig giants. His contribution to 35 goals in 33 appearances tells just how much of a sensational season he’s having.

However, with the current campaign nearing its end, the big question mark surrounding Osimhen’s next destination is beginning to take center stage, especially given his flock of potential suitors.

Several top clubs across Europe have registered their interest in the Nigeria international. The two biggest clubs in Spanish football, Barcelona and Real Madrid, are reported to be looking to acquire the prolific hitman’s services.

Meanwhile, there is also concrete interest from the Premier League with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all in the conversation when it comes to Osimhen’s next destination.

Interestingly, Galatasaray have openly expressed their desire to make Osimhen’s stay in Turkey permanent but it appears they aren’t alone in that boat.

According to Buchi Laba, a Nigerian journalist close to Osimhen’s entourage, Gala’s arch rivals Fenerbahce recently approached the 26-year-old striker but immediately saw their advances rejected.

Yes Fenerbahce involved a big agent to try and convince Osimhen to consider them but all approach was immediately rebuffed. It’s impossible.

“Yes Fenerbahce involved a big agent to try and convince Osimhen to consider them but all approach was immediately rebuffed,” Buchi Laba posted on X (formerly Twitter).

“It’s impossible. There are bigger, better clubs interested. Decision will be made at the end of the season.”

While Osimhen’s rejection of Fenerbahce is easy to fathom given the existing rivalry with his current employers Galatasaray, it’s difficult to see him turning down a “dream” move to the Premier League.
