Still only in his early twenties, the former Emmanuel Amunike Academy product is known for his tough tackling, composure in midfield, and intelligent ball movement. With experience already in Albania, Hungary, and now France, he’s proving to be a fast-rising talent.

Biography

Hamzat-Basit Ojediran was born on November 14, 2003, in Lagos, Nigeria. He began his football journey at the Emmanuel Amunike Academy, a respected academy in Nigeria known for producing players with strong fundamentals and tactical awareness.

In 2022, he got his break in Europe by signing with KF Egnatia in Albania. After impressing in his short time there, he was loaned to Hungarian side Debreceni VSC, where he made a solid impact with goals and consistent performances in midfield.

Hamzat-Basit Ojediran played an active role for Nigeria at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil, starting all four games in midfield. The young Eaglets topped Group B after winning their matches against Hungary, Ecuador and Australia.

His progress caught the eye of French Ligue 1 side RC Lens, who signed him in August 2024 on a contract running until 2028. Ojediran has already scored in Ligue 1 and is settling into life in one of Europe’s top leagues, continuing his steady rise as a promising Nigerian talent.
