Real Salt Lake have signed Nigerian striker William Agada from Sporting Kansas City for $500,000 (approx ₦807 million) in 2025 General Allocation Money (GAM), the club has announced, Footynaija.com reports.

The deal includes a potential $350,000 (₦565 million) in additional GAM if Agada signs a contract extension with RSL for the 2026 season. Sporting Kansas City will also retain a sell-on percentage.

Agada, 25, has made a name for himself in Major League Soccer with his energetic forward play and instinctive goal-scoring ability. Since arriving in the U.S. from Hapoel Jerusalem in 2022, he has scored 24 goals in 77 appearances for Kansas City across all competitions.

“We are very excited to add another aggressive and versatile attacking option to our team,” said RSL’s Chief Soccer Officer Kurt Schmid.

“Willy brings MLS experience to our striker group, has scored key goals in big moments, and consistently finds himself in good positions to finish.”

Congratulations to William Agada for being our man of the month for the month of July! Well deserved!

We would also like to thank Mark Edson and Stefanie Kruetzkamp for presenting the man of the month award!! pic.twitter.com/3sbxSUu4Q2

Last season, Agada led Sporting KC with 12 goals in 40 matches, also contributing four assists. He previously claimed Golden Boot honours in both the 2022 and 2024 campaigns and was named Co-Newcomer of the Year in his debut MLS season.

Agada’s journey to MLS began in Israel, where he scored 41 goals over four seasons with Hapoel Jerusalem and Hapoel Haifa. Born in Bauchi, Nigeria, he turned professional at 18 and quickly became a key figure in Israeli football.

He is set to arrive in Salt Lake City on Thursday and could be in line for his debut this weekend against San Diego FC, as Real Salt Lake make their first visit to Snapdragon Stadium.
