Super Eagles first-timer Anthony Dennis draws interest from German and English clubs – report
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Anthony Dennis, recently handed his first Super Eagles call-up by Nigeria national team head coach Eric Chelle, is reportedly drawing interest from VFB Stuttgart and Leeds United, Footynaija.com understands.

Dennis’ stocks have risen quickly since his move from HB Academy in Abuja, Nigeria to Turkish Club Gotzepe back in January 2023.

From initially joining the youth team setup at Gotzepe to helping the Turkish side win promotion to the Super Lig in 2024, the 20-year-old midfielder has established himself as a very crucial player for his club.

This season, Dennis has started in all of his 20 Super Lig appearances for Gotzepe. Asides providing midfield stability for the team, the Nigerian has also contributed two assists to help them place 6th after 24 games.

Dennis’ exploits in Turkey have deservedly drawn the attention of the Nigeria national team decision makers. Head coach Chelle recently handed him his maiden call-up to the Super Eagles.

However, it is not just the national team that have noticed Dennis, with reports from Africa Foot suggesting that Stuttgart of the German Bundesliga and Leeds from the EFL Championship are both eyeing a summer move for the midfielder.

The youngster is under contract at Gotzepe until 2027 but he may be faced with the tough choice of continuing to develop his craft in familiar surroundings or taking his talents to a new environment when the summer transfer window opens.

Any potential deal will depend largely on the willingness of Gotzepe to part ways with their star midfielder. For now though, the Turkish club’s focus will be on their Super Lig clash against Sivasspor on Sunday.
