Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface was a surprise presence in the stands at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium on Sunday, watching Barcelona dismantle Sevilla 4-1 in La Liga, Soccernet.football reports.

Bayer Leverkusen forward Boniface seized the opportunity to visit Spain after his side’s goalless Bundesliga draw with Wolfsburg the previous day.

He watched on as Robert Lewandowski, Fermín López, and Raphinha found the net to propel Hansi Flick’s team to third place, two points behind league leaders Real Madrid.

However, Boniface’s trip to Seville wasn’t just about football fandom—it was also about friendship.

The 23-year-old was in town to support his close friend and compatriot Chidera Ejuke, who recently joined Sevilla. The duo shares more than just a nationality; they also have the same agent, Norwegian-Nigerian Emefie Aneke Atta, who played a key role in their respective moves to European football.

Boniface and Ejuke’s careers have followed similar paths. Both started in Norway—Boniface with Bodø/Glimt and Ejuke with Vålerenga—before making their names in Belgium and the Netherlands, respectively.

Now, while Boniface thrives in Germany under Xabi Alonso, Ejuke is looking to establish himself in Spain.

Another familiar face in the stands was Akor Adams, Sevilla’s new Nigerian forward, who also shares ties with Aneke Atta. After the match, the three players, along with their agent, took a photo together outside the stadium, captioning it “Squad.”

While Sevilla had previously monitored Boniface before his move to Bayer Leverkusen, his current status as a key Bundesliga star makes any transfer to the Spanish side unlikely.

The Nigeria international, who was the subject of a failed Al Nassr move this winter, is drawing interest from top clubs in Spain, England, and Italy.
