Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain linked with summer move for Super Eagles forward

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has received verbal offers from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the summer transfer window, Footynaija.com reports.

Osimhen has grown to become one of the most sought-after strikers across Europe, after establishing himself as a very potent attacking force and ruthless finisher for Napoli. The 26-year-old hitman notched 26 goals in the 2022/2023 season to help the Azzurri clinch their first Scudetto in 33 years.

However, he gradually fell out of favor in Naples following an alarmingly unsuccessful title defense by the club. As a result, after a drawn-out transfer saga, he eventually secured a loan move to Turkish giants Galatasaray last summer.

Since arriving at Istanbul, Osimhen has been in outstanding form, netting 17 goals and registering five assists in 23 matches across all competitions. His performances have been nothing short of impressive, making his future a key topic of discussion ahead of the summer transfer window.

While Galatasaray would like to tie Osimhen to a permanent deal at the end of his loan spell, the possibility of that happening now seems far from likely according to Turkish football pundit Yagız Sabuncuoglu.

Sabuncuoglu revealed in an interview with Sports Digitale via habersarikirmizi.com that the Nigeria international is on the verge of engaging the services of a “world-famous” management company to represent his interests ahead of the summer transfer window amid verbal approaches from United and PSG.

“Victor Osimhen is about to sign a deal with a world-famous management company,’ Sabuncuoglu began.

“In fact, a Real Madrid player is mediating these talks. What does this mean? The possibility of signing with Galatasaray in June has decreased a lot.

“PSG and Manchester United made verbal offers to the player regarding salary and contract period. Because both clubs agreed to give Napoli a release clause.

“It is very difficult for Galatasaray to compete with these two clubs. He is most likely leaving at the end of the season.”

Where Osimhen will end up in the summer remains to be seen. The Nigerian however made his desire to continue his career in Europe clear by rejecting very lucrative offers from Saudi during the winter window.
