Cyriel Dessers has reaffirmed his commitment to Rangers, declaring he has “unfinished business” at Ibrox despite ongoing transfer speculation linking him with several European clubs, Soccernet.football reports.

The Nigerian striker has reportedly attracted interest from St. Etienne, Cagliari, Empoli, and Leganes ahead of the January transfer deadline.

Dessers has endured a mixed spell at Rangers since his arrival from Italian side Cremonese in the summer of 2023. A challenging start saw him fall behind Moroccan forward Hamza Igamane in the pecking order in early December.

Yet, the 30-year-old has recently rediscovered his form, netting in four consecutive games for the first time in his Rangers career, including a spectacular equaliser against Manchester United in the Europa League.

That strike also helped Dessers reach a personal milestone, as it was the 150th professional goal of his career.

When asked about his future, Dessers dismissed speculation, insisting his focus remains on the pitch.

“No talks at all. I don’t mind that,” Dessers told Sky Sports. “I try to focus on the football, the things that are happening on the pitch. Those are the things that I can control. And like Sunday, I’m just happy to be out there with the guys and fight for the points and be important. That’s what I want. There’s a lot of unfinished business at Rangers for me.”

His determination to fight for his place has paid dividends. Manager Philippe Clement handed Dessers a rare start against Dundee United on Sunday, and the striker delivered, scoring his 18th goal of the season.

“That’s also why I kept pushing in the last weeks, in the gym, in training, in the minutes that you get,” Dessers added. “I feel like I’m in a good place. I’ve been working hard on and off the pitch, and then if you get the moments like Sunday to show it, you need to show it.”

Dessers also praised his developing partnership with Igamane, saying: “For a striker, rhythm is so important, but I was happy to be on the pitch to play together with Hamza. And I think we have a very good connection, and hopefully that can grow as well.”

With a contract running until the summer of 2027, Dessers appears determined to cement his place in Rangers’ plans for the long term.
