Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr are set to welcome another star to their ranks, as the Saudi Pro League side has reportedly reached a €60 million (N95.2 billion) agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for Nigerian forward Victor Boniface, Soccernet.football reports.

The 24-year-old striker is expected to earn a staggering €15 million net annually at his new club.

Sky Sports Germany has confirmed that Boniface has already completed his medical examinations, clearing the final hurdle for the move.

The striker’s imminent transfer is another high-profile acquisition for Al-Nassr as they continue to strengthen their squad with global talent.

Boniface’s time at Bayer Leverkusen was nothing short of extraordinary.

In his debut season, he played a central role in the club’s historic treble-winning campaign, securing the Bundesliga, the German Cup, and the German Super Cup. His stellar performances earned him the Bundesliga’s Rookie of the Season award, with 34 appearances yielding 21 goals and 10 assists.

However, his absence from Leverkusen’s training on Tuesday fuelled speculation of his impending departure.

Head coach Xabi Alonso confirmed the ongoing transfer talks, stating: “There are discussions with the club, and we need to wait. We’re preparing without Boni.”

Alonso further elaborated on the team’s focus ahead of their Champions League group-stage match, saying: “We will see. We need to wait a bit more, but our preparation is with the rest of our squad who are ready and fit and in good shape at the moment. It’s the last Champions League game, and that’s our focus.”

With Boniface on his way to Saudi Arabia, Bayer Leverkusen have shifted their attention to securing a replacement striker.

One of their top targets is Brighton and Hove Albion’s rising star Evan Ferguson. The Irish forward has already attracted interest from Premier League sides such as West Ham United, but Leverkusen remain optimistic about landing the 19-year-old talent.
