Nigeria’s Super Eagles B are set to face Ghana’s Black Galaxies in a crucial second-leg encounter of the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo today, Soccernet.football reports.

The tie hangs delicately in the balance after a goalless first leg in Accra, with both teams determined to secure a spot in the tournament set to be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

The home-based Eagles will look to capitalise on home advantage, but Ghana’s Black Galaxies are brimming with confidence, buoyed by their impressive record in similar high-stakes fixtures.

Ghana head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani is optimistic about his side’s chances. “We created far more chances and were unlucky not to score,” Dramani said. “Saturday is another opportunity to get the goals and book our place in the CHAN finals. We are ready for the challenge.”

Dramani’s confidence is well-founded. Just two years ago, the Black Galaxies stunned Nigeria in Abuja during the CHAN qualifiers, clinching a dramatic victory on penalties after a 2-2 aggregate scoreline. That triumph under pressure has given Ghana the belief that they can rise to the occasion once again.

For Nigeria, this match is an opportunity for revenge and redemption.

Head coach Daniel Ogunmodede dismissed Ghana’s psychological edge, stating, “We’ve carefully analysed Ghana’s strengths and found that they rely heavily on history. Whatever Ghanaian ‘curse’ exists must be broken tomorrow; our goal is to qualify for CHAN.”

Ghana need a scoring draw or a win to advance, while Nigeria must secure an outright victory to progress. Another goalless draw will be followed by a penalty shootout.

Both teams are expected to deliver a fiercely competitive game, with the Super Eagles drawing inspiration from a passionate home crowd.

The stakes could not be higher, and the clash promises to be a riveting battle of tactics, grit, and determination. Will the Super Eagles soar under pressure, or will the Black Galaxies once again shine in a decisive moment?
