Newcastle United midfielder Joelinton has made a heartfelt appeal to thieves following a second burglary at his family home in under a year, Soccernet.football reports.

The Brazilian’s mansion, located in the exclusive Darras Hall area of Northumberland, was broken into during the international break, leaving his family shaken once again.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Joelinton shared his anguish on Instagram: “Our home was broken into again. To anyone considering doing this: Please know that there is nothing valuable left here! What we care about most is our family’s safety and our kids growing up without fear.

“We hope for a community where our children, and everyone’s children, feel safe. We ask that our home be respected as a safe space for our family. We simply want to live in peace.”

This is the second time his home has been targeted in just 10 months.

The first incident occurred in January, when thieves broke in while Joelinton was attending Newcastle’s Premier League match against Manchester City at St James’ Park.

Although security alerts notified him and his partner, Thays Gondim, of the intrusion, the criminals had fled by the time police arrived.

Joelinton, who has three young children, moved to Newcastle in 2019 in a £40 million transfer from Hoffenheim.

The versatile midfielder has been a key player for the Magpies, making 198 appearances and scoring 27 goals. He notched a goal in Newcastle’s recent 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest before the break but was not included in Brazil’s squad for the current World Cup qualifiers.
