Paris Saint-Germain striker Bradley Barcola has been crowned the UNFP Ligue 1 Player of the Month for September, Soccernet.football reports.

The 22-year-old French international was voted the best player in the league, edging out Olympique Marseille’s Mason Greenwood and Lille’s Jonathan David for the prestigious accolade.

The award, organised by the French football union UNFP, recognises standout performances in Ligue 1. Winners are selected through a combination of an online public vote, contributing 50% of the tally, and votes from Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 players.

This is Barcola’s first win of the award, solidifying his growing reputation as one of Ligue 1’s brightest talents.

Barcola’s impressive performances in September saw him score three crucial goals, helping Paris Saint-Germain maintain their unbeaten start to the 2024-25 season.

His consistent displays have played a key role in PSG’s strong form under Luis Enrique, with the reigning champions determined to defend their title.

This victory also marks the 49th time a Paris Saint-Germain player has won the UNFP Player of the Month award since its inception in the 2003-04 season.

PSG’s Kylian Mbappe, now at Real Madrid, holds the record for the most wins with 11, while Zlatan Ibrahimović is second with five.

Barcola’s triumph reflects his growing influence in the PSG squad, and the forward will aim to continue his excellent form as the club prepares to face Strasbourg in their next league fixture.
