Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly urged his club, Al-Nassr, to offer Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne a staggering £1 million-a-week contract to lure him to the Saudi Pro League, Soccernet.football understands.

According to TheMirror, Ronaldo is keen on seeing De Bruyne join him in Saudi Arabia, where he believes the Belgian midfielder could significantly raise the league’s profile.

De Bruyne, 33, is currently under contract with Manchester City until the summer of 2025.

However, there is increasing interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, who have made no secret of their ambition to sign high-profile stars like Mohamed Salah and De Bruyne.

Despite their efforts to secure him during the summer transfer window, the Belgian international chose to stay at City, fulfilling his current contract.

De Bruyne has faced ongoing fitness challenges, missing City’s last four matches due to a recurring hamstring injury.

Saudi clubs, eager to enhance their league’s stature, are expected to make another push for top talents next year.

With De Bruyne’s contract nearing its end, the timing may be perfect for Al-Nassr to tempt the Belgian star with a lucrative deal.

Ronaldo, the highest-paid player in the Saudi Pro League, is reportedly pushing his club to offer De Bruyne an eye-watering deal that could triple his current Manchester City wages.

Whether De Bruyne will be swayed by the offer remains to be seen, but the Saudis’ ambition is clear: to attract global stars and elevate their league to new heights.
