Premier League’s greatest manager: Liverpool’s Arne Slot snubs Sir Alex, Mourinho, Guardiola

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has sparked debate by snubbing Sir Alex Ferguson, Pep Guardiola, and Jose Mourinho when asked to name the greatest manager in Premier League history, Soccernet.football reports.

In a candid response, Slot opted for two Liverpool legends instead of the popular choices.

The Dutchman, who has enjoyed a flawless start to life at Anfield, winning his first three Premier League games without conceding a goal, named Kenny Dalglish and Jurgen Klopp as his top picks.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Slot revealed, “The first that comes to mind is Kenny Dalglish, and of course Jürgen Klopp.”

Unlike Slot, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta named the trio of Sir Alex, Arsene Wenger, and Pep Guardiola as the league’s finest-ever tacticians.

Slot’s decision to overlook Ferguson — who won 13 Premier League titles with Manchester United — shows his deep connection to Liverpool’s history.

While Slot could have easily chosen Ferguson, he demonstrated his loyalty to the club’s identity by picking Dalglish and Klopp, two men who are revered by the Anfield faithful.

Slot’s tactical intelligence has been evident early in his reign, with his side outplaying Manchester United in their own backyard during a 2-0 victory.

His performance has earned him a nomination for the Premier League Manager of the Month in his first month in charge.

Slot will now hope to carve out a legacy similar to those of Dalglish and Klopp at Liverpool. If he can match their success, he will undoubtedly become another iconic figure in the club’s illustrious history.
