Erling Haaland will not face any retrospective action from the Football Association (FA) for his involvement in an altercation with Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes during Manchester City’s dramatic 2-2 draw on Sunday, Soccernet.football understands.

The Norwegian striker threw the ball at Gabriel’s head after City’s late equaliser, sparking a confrontation that extended beyond the final whistle.

The tense moments unfolded after John Stones scored a 98th-minute equaliser to secure a point for Manchester City, keeping them ahead of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.

Emotions ran high as Haaland, frustrated after the late goal, squared up to Gabriel and exchanged words with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, forward Gabriel Jesus, and young debutant Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Despite the heated scenes, Haaland will not face any punishment from the FA, allowing him to be available for City’s Carabao Cup third-round match against Watford on Tuesday night, as per TheMirror.

Both Manchester City and Arsenal have also escaped retrospective punishment for their roles in the confrontation.

Haaland’s clash with Gabriel wasn’t the only controversial moment.

The City striker was involved in a collision with Thomas Partey shortly after Stones’ equaliser and later had a verbal exchange with Arteta, reportedly telling the Arsenal boss to “stay humble” in the heated aftermath.

While tensions were high, the FA has opted to let the incident pass without any further consequences, meaning Haaland can focus on helping City continue their title defence and Carabao Cup campaign.
