Kevin De Bryune insists that he did not hold talks to leave Manchester City despite all the “noise” around his future during the transfer window, Soccernet.football reports.

One of the chief architects of City’s perfect start to the 2024/2025 campaign, the Belgian playmaker was linked with a move away from the Etihad over the summer, amid reported interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.

De Bruyne’s “open to anything” comments, following Belgium’s round of 16 exit from the 2024 European Championships in Germany had initially cast some doubts over his future with the English Champions but speaking to BBC Radio Manchester after City’s 3-1 win over West Ham, the 33-year-old said: “I haven’t spoken to anyone, to be honest.

“There has been a lot of noise and news. I expected a quiet summer and that’s actually what happened. I went on holiday for four weeks, came back and started training. That was it. Nothing to tell.

“I’ve not been entertained by anybody or spoken to anybody.”

City’s creator-in-chief however hinted that he is expecting to hold talks with the club as he is now into the final year of his contract at the Etihad.

“Once the season goes on, I’m sure there will be conversations to be had with City,” he said.

“I just want to feel good, play good football and this will come in the upcoming months. I don’t really feel the rush for the moment.”

De Bryune has registered one goal and one assist so far in the Premier League, helping Pep Guardiola’s men to maintain a flawless start to their fourth consecutive title defense.
