England international Raheem Sterling is reportedly keen on a return to Liverpool after being made available for transfer by Chelsea, Soccernet.football reports.

The 29-year-old forward, who has found himself surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, is eager to reunite with the club where his career first took off.

Sterling’s situation at Chelsea took a dramatic turn when his representatives issued a public statement following his exclusion from the matchday squad against Manchester City.

In response, Chelsea not only omitted him from their European squad but also handed his iconic number seven shirt to new signing Pedro Neto

With the August 30th transfer deadline looming, the England international’s future hangs in the balance, and speculation is rife about his next move.

According to Fichajes, while Chelsea are engaged in discussions with Juventus regarding a possible transfer, Sterling has his heart set on a return to Liverpool.

The Kingston-born winger began his professional journey at Anfield before his high-profile £49 million move to Manchester City in 2015.

His strong connection to Merseyside and the memories of his early career there, where he was two-time Young Player of the Season, make a Liverpool comeback an attractive option.

However, it remains uncertain whether Liverpool, now under the guidance of Arne Slot following Jurgen Klopp’s departure, will pursue a move for their former star. Slot, who is steering the team in a new direction, may not prioritise Sterling’s return.

As Chelsea’s transfer saga unfolds, one thing is clear: Raheem Sterling’s future at Stamford Bridge appears all but over, with Liverpool potentially on the horizon for the disillusioned winger.
