Valencia CF have re-entered the race to sign Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood, looking to rival Lazio and Marseille, Soccernet.football understands.

Interestingly, Manchester United are open to letting the 22-year-old leave Old Trafford permanently and they want to finalise a deal by Friday.

Reports suggest Lazio and Marseille are leading the chase but have not bid more than €20 million, while Manchester United hope for closer to €35 million. Juventus, previously interested, is now focusing on a potential loan for United’s Jadon Sancho.

According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Lazio aim to secure Greenwood, and French giants Marseille offer him a key role at the Velodrome. Spanish sources confirm Valencia’s renewed interest, despite the challenges of securing Greenwood.

Lazio might increase their bid in the future, but they can’t do so now. Manchester United are keen to settle the matter by Friday, initially asking for £30 million. This has led to speculation of a bidding war with a deadline set by United.

Greenwood was recently seen training in Manchester ahead of the new season after excelling in Getafe last term. English reports state Greenwood is frustrated by the delay and wants a transfer finalised within a week, aligning with the Italian media’s claims.

Valencia’s involvement could benefit Manchester United by potentially raising the offers from Lazio and Marseille. Greenwood is eager to leave, and Manchester United want to avoid distractions and secure funds for the summer transfer market.
