The group stage of the 2024 European Championships concluded on Wednesday evening, revealing the 16 teams that will compete in the first knockout round.

Group A
Hosts Germany topped Group A, followed by Switzerland. Hungary and Scotland were eliminated. Switzerland will face Italy at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on June 29, while Germany will play Denmark at the Westfalenstadion in Dortmund on the same day.

Group B
Spain, the only team to win all their group matches, emerged as Group B winners, beating Italy, Albania, and Croatia without conceding a goal. Italy finished as runners-up after a last-minute equalizer against Croatia in their final game.

Group C
England, despite scoring only two goals and winning just one match, topped Group C. Denmark were the runners-up, with Slovenia advancing as one of the third-best-placed teams.

Group D
Austria surprised the Netherlands in their final match to win Group D, with France finishing second. The Netherlands advanced as one of the third-best-placed teams.

Group E
All four teams in Group E ended with four points. Romania, Belgium, and Slovakia progressed based on head-to-head rules and disciplinary records, while Ukraine were eliminated despite having four points.

Group F
Portugal secured top spot early but lost 2-0 to Georgia in their final game. This historic win for Georgia, in their first Euros appearance, sent them to the Round of 16 as a third-best-placed team. Turkey advanced as group runners-up after a 2-1 win over the Czech Republic.

Round-of-16 Matches

– Switzerland vs. Italy
– Germany vs. Denmark
– Spain vs. Georgia
– England vs. Slovakia
