Ronald Araujo’s future is still shrouded in uncertainty as a Camp Nou exit remains a possibility this summer, Soccernet.football understands.

Barcelona are concerned about the future of Ronald Araujo at the club, as reported by Marca.

Araujo’s current contract runs until 2026, but Barcelona are keen to extend it. However, the club is reportedly feeling uneasy due to the lack of communication with the player’s agents.

Three weeks ago, Araujo mentioned that his representatives would speak with the club upon his arrival in Uruguay for the Copa America. Since then, Marca reports there has been minimal contact and no significant progress in negotiations.

This has led to growing speculation within Barcelona that Araujo might be considering a move away from the club.

Bayern Munich showed interest in signing Araujo last January and there has also been interest from Premier League clubs in the past.

Despite Barcelona’s reluctance to part with the 25-year-old Uruguayan center-back, Bayern Munich remains determined to pursue him.

They view Araujo as a key target to strengthen their defence, especially with inconsistent performances from their current center-backs, including Upamecano, Min Jae, and De Ligt, whose contract is nearing its end.

In Germany, it is believed that Barcelona’s financial situation might force them to sell Araujo for a fee close to $100 million or more. Bayern Munich are reportedly willing to pay this amount to secure the defender’s services.
