Cristiano Ronaldo has set a new record for goals in a Saudi Pro League season, Soccernet.football reports.

The 39-year-old Portuguese forward scored twice in Al-Nassr’s 4-2 win against Al-Ittihad, bringing his total to 35 goals.

This surpasses the previous record of 34 goals set by Abderrazak Hamdallah in the 2018-19 season, also with Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo has now finished as top scorer in leagues in four different countries – England, Spain, Italy, and Saudi Arabia – becoming the first pkayer in history to reach such heights.

Since joining Al-Nassr on a free transfer in January 2023 after leaving Manchester United, Ronaldo has scored 64 goals in 69 games across all competitions.

Al-Nassr’s victory secured them a second-place finish in the league, 14 points behind champions Al-Hilal and 17 points ahead of third-placed Al-Ahli.

Ronaldo’s career total now stands at 765 goals over 22 years, including stints with Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus.

He also holds the men’s record for international goals, with 128 from 206 appearances for Portugal.

Reflecting on his achievements, Ronaldo said, “I don’t follow the records, the records follow me.”
