Williams received the trophy from Athletic Bilbao legend Andoni Goikoetxea, succeeding last year’s winner, Samuel Chukwueze.

In his acceptance speech, Williams expressed his his deep connection to Ghana and his love for Bilbao and Athletic Club.

“My roots in Ghana are as deep as my love for Bilbao and Athletic Club. I hope to be in contention for this same award next season,” he told SuperSport.
