Top 5: Tottenham’s best players of the 2023/2024 season

Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs were top of the Premier League after 10 games thanks to a brilliant start to the season. However, suspensions, injuries and bad form soon took away any hopes that might have been kindled.

Tottenham finished the season in fifth place, yet another season without silverware but the Lily Whites showed many positive signs and seem to be making notable progress under Postecoglou.

Soccernet.football has ranked Spurs’ best performers of the just concluded 2023/2024 Premier League season.

5. Dejan Kulusevski

The Swedish forward made the permanent switch to North London from Turin last summer after initially joining on loan and he was one of Tottenham’s brightest players this season.

Kulusevski’s directness on the ball was pivotal for Spurs in attack this season as the 24-year-old Sweden international caused problems for opposition defenders all season and grabbed important goals for his team.

Kulusevski scored 8 goals and provided 3 assists in 36 Premier League appearances this season.

4. Christian Romero

The 25-year-old joined Spurs from Atalanta on loan in 2021 before his deal was made permanent last season for £42.5 million and he has proven himself as a fantastic defender.

Romero was brilliant for Spurs this season, proving to be a threat in the opposition box as he chipped in with some very vital goals for his team.

The Argentine contributed in attack with 5 goals across 33 Premier League for the Lily Whites this season.

3. Pedro Porro

The 24-year-old Spanish defender joined Tottenham Hotspur from Sporting CP permanently last summer after a brief loan spell in North London and was a key player for Spurs throughout the 2023/2024 season.

Porro served as the link in Spurs’ fast-paced transitions, utilizing his passing range and superb technique. The former Manchester City man was also a workhorse in the defensive third.

Porro contributed 10 goal involvements across 35 Premier League appearances for Tottenham this season, including 3 MOTM displays.

2. James Maddison

Spurs signed the midfielder from Leicester City for a fee of £40 million, which proved to be an absolute bargain as Maddison flourished under Postecoglou’s system of play.

The England international operated in the No. 10 position where he showcased his brilliant passing range and his ability to create chances for his teammates out of nothing.

Maddison found the back of the net four times and provided nine assists across 28 Premier League appearances for Spurs this season.

1. Son Heung-Min

The South Korea international became the main man and club captain for Spurs after Harry Kane departed the club and joined Bayern Munich in search of a new challenge.

Son rose to the occasion brilliantly as he displayed his ability to lead Tottenham’s attack from the front, becoming Postecoglou’s most reliable finisher and provider this season.

The Tottenham skipper notched 17 goals and provided 10 assists in 35 Premier League appearances, including 6 MOTM performances.
