Nigeria have secured their spot at the 2025 African Cup Championships following an aggregate 3-1 victory over Ghana in the final qualifying round, Soccernet.football reports.

After picking up an impressive goalless draw in Accra in the first leg of the CHAN qualifier against Ghana last Sunday, the home-based Super Eagles knew any manner of victory in the return leg would be enough to secure qualification.

The Daniel Ogunmodede-led side made no mistake as they strolled to an excellent 3-1 win at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Super Eagles B took the lead through Remo Stars defender Sadiq Ismail who sprung the offside trap to blast home in the 18th minute.

Three minutes later, the Nigerians were two goals up after skipper Nduka Junior smashed into the roof of the net after Ghana failed to clear a corner kick.

A good first half for Nigeria turned great in the 24th minute when Saviour Isaac pounced on a defensive error, rounded the Ghanaian goalkeeper and slotted into an empty net.

Stephen Amankona reduced the deficit for Ghana but the Black Galaxies could not muster a comeback against the brilliant Eagles.

It is sweet revenge for Nigeria, who were stopped from qualifying for the last edition of the CHAN by Ghana.

The home-based Super Eagles return to the CHAN for the first time since their participation in 2018, when they finished as runners-up to Morocco.
