Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has offered a strong indication of where Diogo Dalot fits into his tactical plans, suggesting the Portuguese full-back is best suited to a right wing-back role, Soccernet.football reports.

United began their Premier League campaign with a 1-1 draw against Ipswich Town before edging past Bodo/Glimt 3-2 in the Europa League.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s clash with Everton, Amorim addressed Dalot’s role following the defender’s substitute appearance in the Europa League.
“He’s very powerful,” Amorim said, as quoted by BeanymanSports. “We have to rotate him sometimes, because he always looks fresh, but he’s not like that, he’s not a machine! I think he plays better on the right, and we will manage to put him there. He’s a very good player.”
Dalot, 25, was a consistent starter under former manager Erik ten Hag, but Amorim’s approach suggests a more rotational system depending on the opposition.
While his versatility allows him to operate in various roles, Amorim’s comments signal that the right wing-back position could be Dalot’s long-term home under the new regime.
