Paul Pogba reveals what he will “give up” to pull on Juve shirt once more

Paul Pogba has revealed that he is ready to ‘reduce his salary’ to play for Juventus when he returns from his doping ban, Soccernet.football reports.

Pogba received a four-year suspension in February 2024 following an investigation after he tested positive for elevated testosterone levels back in September 2023. However, the midfielder went ahead to appeal his suspension.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) recently ruled in favour of the Frenchman’s appeal, reducing his ban to 18 months and allowing him to return to football in March 2025.

With his return approaching, speculation has grown about his future at Juventus, where he still has a year and a half remaining on his contract.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Manchester United midfielder expressed his desire to rejoin the Bianconeri, insisting that he is willing to reduce his salary to make it possible.

“I am willing to give up money just to play for Juve again. I want to come back. I don’t see myself with another shirt. My focus now is to wear Juve’s again,” said Pogba.

However, the 2018 World Cup winner also admitted that he is yet to discuss his situation with new Old Lady manager Thiago Motta.

“I haven’t had the opportunity to see him and talk to him, but this moment will come. I think I’ll be ready to train and play with Juve. I am now a player at Juve. In my head there is only this today,” he said.

“I don’t have to speak, the field will speak and then Thiago Motta will judge with his eyes, based on what he will see. Talk is nice, but I want to play and for Juve and for France, I want to be the best.”

Juventus strengthened in midfield over the summer, adding Douglas Luiz, Kephren Thuram and Teun Koopmeiners to their squad. Hence, it remains to be seen whether Motta can create space in his team for Pogba’s quality upon the Frenchman’s return.
