Bursaspor president Enes Celik has revealed the club’s stance on a potential sale of Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho amid reported interest from Fenerbahce, Footynaija.com reports.
Iheanacho has been a revelation since joining the Turkish second-division side on a free transfer in the summer, quickly establishing himself as one of the most influential players in the team.
The Nigerian forward has scored 16 goals and provided three assists in 12 league appearances this season, helping Bursaspor climb to the top of the TFF 1. Lig standings as they push for promotion to the Turkish Super Lig.
His impressive performances have also attracted attention, with reports in Turkey linking Fenerbahce with a potential move for the former Leicester City and Manchester City forward ahead of the January transfer window.
Amid the growing speculation, Celik has addressed the possibility of Iheanacho leaving, admitting that while the club would prefer to keep their star striker, they would consider an offer that significantly benefits Bursaspor.

“If a poll were conducted, 99% would say he absolutely shouldn’t be sold,” Celik said, as quoted by Turkinform.
“I understand that, but we’re not just looking at it emotionally. We also have to look at the situation logically. Iheanacho is a player who scores goals when there’s no real chance.
“I want him to stay in the team more than anyone. But there might be some absurd figures involved. If there are, we, as the management, will evaluate them. Ultimately, we set out to do what’s right for the club.”

It remains uncertain whether Fenerbahce or another interested club will make a formal move for Iheanacho in January or wait until the summer before pursuing his signature.
Meanwhile, the striker’s remarkable 12-game scoring streak came to an end on Saturday, although Bursaspor still cruised to a 3-0 victory over Bandırmaspor.
The result marked their fourth consecutive league win, taking them to 31 points and strengthening their grip on top spot in the standings.
