Kelechi Iheanacho’s 12-game scoring streak ended on Saturday, but Bursaspor still cruised to a 3-0 win over Bandırmaspor in the Turkish second division, Footynaija reports.
The Super Eagles striker failed to find the net at the Atatürk Spor Kompleksi Matlı Stadyumu as Bursaspor recorded their 10th win of the 2026-27 TFF 1. Lig season.
Iheanacho had scored in each of his previous 12 league appearances, netting 16 goals and providing three assists since the start of the campaign. His failure to score against Bandırmaspor brought the run to an end, although Bursaspor had little trouble securing all three points.
The hosts took control early, with Halil Akbunar opening the scoring in the seventh minute after an assist from Amine Boutrah.
Lewis Baker made it 2-0 five minutes later, finishing off a pass from Toral Bayramov before scoring again in the 23rd minute to give Bursaspor a three-goal lead.
Neither side scored after the break as Bursaspor comfortably saw out the win.
The result was their fourth consecutive league victory, taking them to 31 points and strengthening their grip on first place in the standings.
Despite drawing a blank, Iheanacho remains the leading scorer in the TFF 1. Lig with 16 goals. Taulant Seferi and Rey Manaj are his closest challengers, with nine goals each.
The former Leicester City and Sevilla forward will hope to return to scoring form in Bursaspor’s next match as the club continue their push for promotion.
