Super Eagles centurion Moses Simon has revealed the secret behind his remarkable longevity with the Nigeria national team after reaching the 100-cap milestone in the 2-1 victory over Madagascar, Footynaija.com reports.
Simon became only the fifth player in Nigerian football history to reach a century of international appearances when he came off the bench during Friday’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo.
The Paris FC forward, who made his Super Eagles debut in 2015, admitted that he never imagined he would reach such a landmark but has always remained committed whenever called up by the national team.

“First of all, I would like to say thanks to the coach for the opportunity, thanks to every coach that gave me this opportunity and also thanks to you all, the journalists”, Simon said post-match, via Tribal Football.
“Of course, this gave me joy and it’s a great privilege to play for the Super Eagles. It’s a dream come true. I never believed I would be there, I never believed I would play 100 games, but I just believe one thing: whenever I’m called up, I will be there to give my 100 percent.”

The 31-year-old also revealed that the support of his family, friends, Nigerians and journalists has been central to his decade-long international career.
“The secret to my 100 caps is my family, my friends, Nigerians, journalists, because when I see the passion you journalists have for football, I’m ready to give everything,” he added.
Simon marked the historic occasion with an energetic cameo against Madagascar after replacing Samuel Chukwueze in the 61st minute.
His introduction added pace and directness to Nigeria’s attack, with the winger causing problems for the Malagasy defence courtesy of his movement and ability to take on defenders.
He came close to scoring in the 81st minute, while another dangerous run five minutes later earned Nigeria a late free-kick. In stoppage time, Simon also picked out Alex Iwobi with a well-weighted pass, although the midfielder’s effort went narrowly wide.
Simon now has 100 appearances, 12 goals and 15 assists for the Super Eagles, having featured at several major tournaments during his international career.
