Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi has emerged as a potential transfer target for Turkish Super Lig club Caykur Rizespor ahead of the new season, Footynaija.com reports.
Rizespor are looking to strengthen their attack and have reportedly identified the Super Eagles striker as one of the options they could pursue as they continue their search for attacking reinforcements.
Awoniyi remains under contract with Nottingham Forest, but his situation at the Premier League club could make a potential move worth considering.

The 28-year-old endured a difficult 25/26 campaign, making 17 Premier League appearances and scoring four goals, while providing one assist. He started just three league matches and featured for a total of 493 minutes.
Despite his limited involvement, Awoniyi produced some memorable moments, scoring twice in Forest’s 3-1 victory over Chelsea before also finding the net in their 3-0 win against Tottenham.
However, competition for places and his struggles with injuries have limited his opportunities at the City Ground, potentially opening the door for a move away from the Premier League.
According to reports from Turkey, Rizespor have placed the Nigerian forward on their shortlist as they look to add more firepower to their attack.
The Turkish club could view Awoniyi’s Premier League experience as an attractive quality as they prepare for the new campaign, while a move to the Super Lig could give the striker an opportunity to rediscover his best form and secure more regular playing time.
However, there is currently no indication that a deal is close. Rizespor’s interest remains at the exploratory stage and no formal offer has been made to Nottingham Forest for the former Union Berlin striker.
Awoniyi therefore remains a Forest player for now, but with the Turkish club keeping tabs on his situation, his future could become one to watch as the transfer window progresses.
