Nigerian internationals Terem Moffi and Zaidu Sanusi were part of the FC Porto side that secured the 2025-26 Primeira Liga title on Saturday following a narrow 1-0 win over Alverca at the Estádio do Dragão, Footynaija reports.
The result confirmed Porto as champions of Primeira Liga, sealing their 31st title with two games still remaining and ending a four-year wait to reclaim the trophy from Sporting CP.
Sanusi played the full match at left-back and delivered a composed display as Porto protected their lead. His performance reflected a season of steady improvement after a difficult period marked by injury.

The 28-year-old, who had previously struggled for minutes after returning from a long-term ACL injury, has now won his second league title with the club, having also been part of the 2021–22 triumph. The former Santa Clara star becomes the first Nigerian to win two league titles at Porto
The league success equally represents a major turning point for Moff. The striker joined Porto on loan from OGC Nice in January 2026 and has since contributed important moments during the title run-in. While not always in the starting line-up, his work rate and attacking presence provided valuable support in tight matches.

Moffi’s journey to this point has been challenging. His time in France was disrupted by off-field incidents, including a confrontation with supporters following a defeat to FC Lorient. After struggling for form and dealing with the aftermath of a serious knee injury, he sought a fresh start in Portugal.
That move reunited him with coach Francesco Farioli, under whom he began to rebuild confidence. He made a quick impact, scoring in Europe against VfB Stuttgart and adding further contributions in the league.
It is the first league title of Moffi’s career and he will look to make his move to Porto permanent.
